Air Valves

Air valves are required on most water systems to prevent trapped air from causing problems. They’ll help prevent air locks in pipe systems, water hammer from occurring and pipes from collapsing.

Most farm irrigation or major water systems will have to negotiate undulating terrain (such as ridges or hills) which can cause air to become trapped. Specialist valves are also required to prevent pipes collapsing when water is moving under vacuum.
