At a glance

The cooler climate, long daylight hours and fertile soil found in New Zealand’s southern-most region ensures farming is, and always has been, a cornerstone of the local economy.

Lush green pastures produce some of this country’s finest cheeses and dairy products. Southland is famous for its iconic ‘cheese rolls’ and a large number of sheep, beef and dairy farms.

Over 200,000ha of dairy land is now found in Southland, contributing around $1 billion to the regional economy and employing over 4000 locals.

What we offer

At WaterForce Southland we have many years’ experience helping agricultural clients with their pumping, stock water, filtration, water metering and effluent dispersal needs. We have two branch offices, located in Winton and Gore, and a team of 16 staff to help design, install and service a wide range of quality products and equipment.

We sell leading international brands of water pumps (i.e. Grundfos, Lowara and Pedrollo) to pressurise water for your household or dairy shed. In the event of a breakdown, we’ll be on site to fix it promptly and can loan you a pump if necessary while we take care of any repairs.

We also specialise in designing efficient effluent dispersal systems to ensure you apply the correct application rate to your land depending on your exact location and soil type. We supply and service Yardmaster effluent pumps as well as EcoPumps and all the associated equipment you might need.

Environmental compliance is a growing issue in our region. If you require water flow meters or telemetry equipment to monitor and report your usage, come and see our team. WaterForce is also the preferred supplier and only installer of Forsi water filtration systems to help remove iron and manganese from your water supply and keep your pumps and pipes in optimal condition.

WaterForce has ‘green tick’ accreditation from Irrigation NZ, backed by Dairy NZ, for designing and installing effluent dispersal systems, plus ‘blue tick’ accreditation for water meter installation and verification.

Beyond the farm, WaterForce helps home owners with their domestic pumping or filtration needs. We have both UV and non-UV water filtration options available.

Southland is also home to a wide range of other industries including coal mines, timber and concrete plants – many of whom require water pumps, water flow meters and associated equipment. If your business needs help to install or service any gear that moves water, we’d love to hear from you.

In our Winton trade store you’ll find everything you need to complete small plumbing jobs around the home or farm plus a wide range of replacement parts or fittings. Our nationwide support means we can source whatever items you need within a day or two if they’re not already in stock.

Our dedicated staff, including mobile service technicians, help clients from Kingston at the southern end of Lake Wakatipu, across to Mosgiel, and everywhere south of there.
